So this 3D thing...

My (pink!) Nintendo 3DS XL arrived in the mail today, along with Harvest Moon. And it is awesome, because the screen is huge. I think it would have been too big for me when I was a little kid, and it's quite heavy for a portable system, but it's perfect for my hands now. But I have a problem, which I was afraid I'd have: the 3D starts to give me a headache after a short time. Turning it to the lowest setting that still shows up as 3D helps, but does not eliminate the problem. I'd like to play 3D games in 3D, because it looks nifty, but I'm not sure I can :(. I wonder if a new contact prescription would help.

The 3D on the 3DS gives me a headache, too. I compromise by turning it on when I think it really merits it (the flight sequences in Kid Icarus are stunning in 3D) and turning it off the rest of the time, to give my eyes a rest.

I hope the technology improves. :p

Yeah, that's a good plan. Harvest Moon: A New Beginning looks better with the 3D turned off anyway, with brighter colors and sharper images. Hopefully I won't want a game with gameplay that depends on the 3D being on all the time, since on the DS I just play RPGs and Harvest Moon.
