lliiraI used to say "it's fine and good if you write x bad thing so long as you make it clear it's wrong." I've evolved on that, as that idea has been taken to more and more ludicrous extremes. Actually, "evolved" is weak; I've realized the advice is incorrect and leads to highly obnoxious stories and culture.
Now, I'll say "it's fine and good if you write x bad thing so long as you don't write as if it's right." Presenting something through a tight perspective of the characters is brilliant. Sermons of any kind make for poor fiction.
But no one who needs that advice is going to listen to it. And scads of people will think anything but an anvil chorus is approval. So just write whatever the fuck you want.
