Some women just want to watch the world burn

Besides being immersed in a Bioware game as usual (finished Inquisition for the first time tonight), I've also been dealing with emotions returning. It's like the weather: I have no idea what I'm going to feel next, but at least I'm starting to feel some complex emotions and desires again. Tonight, I'm in the mood for strong, villainous women who rip the world apart. Ones with motivations other than "waah my boyfriend cheated on me" or "she's prettier than me" or "I can't have babies" or whateverthefuck. Someone whose throne was stolen from her and she resorts to horrible things to get it back, for instance. Who is not good, who wants vengeance and power, and who does not get softened through motherhood or the application of penii or anything else.

Melissan annoyed me because it was so obvious she was an enemy from the start. Though all of ToB annoyed me tbh. Bodhi worked though.

This want I'm having is more weirdly specific though. For Lawful Evil or Neutral types I guess? With lots of shading to them. Not women who are like mwahah I like hurting people it is so fun (except certain specific people who have wronged them), but women who still have consciences but shut them down in a quest for what they want. I guess I want more Hapsburgs, fewer evil stepmothers.

Have you come across the webcomic Nimona? I think one of the antagonist characters there might be from the archetype you're describing, though that character does not have much of a backstory.

And I've also remembered that Legend of Korra Season 4 *also* has a female villain who was very well handled! She wasn't evil because of love gone wrong (her fiance was very supportive of her ambition), or rape in her backstory; she had an ambition for her nation that became out of control. Perhaps you have already seen that, though.
