I have no idea. As far as I can tell, it's that there are more blondes than brunettes in Hollywood? Which I'm not even sure is true, and I am sure that a large number of said blondes are blonde because of hair dye.
If Hollywood is involved, it likely that there's gross stereotyping and a warped perspective of reality involved. Especially when it comes to bottle blondeness.
And frankly, if it's Hollywood, shouldn't the blondes be complaining about their poor treatment, not having someone accuse them of privilege?
These were comments on a gossip blog, and it's not the first time someone said it there, just the first time they blatantly used the term "blonde privilege" -- and in the same breath as talking about the privilege of wealth. But I'd be willing to bet there are Tumblrs out there that claim it too.
*blink* I must've missed where blondes are systematically granted advantages over brunettes. (Edit: says the brunette who is currently peroxide blonde. No visible change of social status from this angle, but maybe I don't pass? ohnoez my roots are showing.)
Well you obviously have not been properly edumacated on this topic! All my life I've lacked the privilege of blonditude and never knew. Because it never affected me in any way. But that's the most insidious prejudice: one with no tangible effects on the real world!
