On cramps: Tramadol does nothing. Meloxicam does very little. Midol is my savior.

On sex toys: I do not know how to deal with people who are like "ooh, sex toys, scandalous, tee-hee." Giving objective facts in a calm manner in response seems to be the best course of action. Still... it's weird to me to see. Like someone being scandalized at a woman showing an ankle. Extreme culture clash. 

On Xenoblade: (spoilery, so it is under a cut AND white texted, highlight to read): *Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Anders-I-mean-Shulk did a couple damn good BIG NOs though. The voice actor seems to be hired to play people who say things that could easily sound absurdly ott, and pulls it off most of the time. I seriously did not see that coming, though. Good job, Xenoblade writers. And I hate you.*

It is quite the culture shift. I think stone of it had to do with the idea that most people are first enjoyed to toys in a contact that makes them sound nature and secretive. I think there's also a social stigma associated with the use of toys, that it's somehow a tacit accusation that your partner is inadequate for getting you off.

I ran a sex blog for a while and was part of the sex blogging community for a little longer -- the part of it that's feminist, activist, and sex-positive. So I'm used to sex toys being embraced, so long as they're made of safe materials and are by a reputable company. And even now, most of the parts of the internet I come in contact with just have no stigma around sex toys at all. Then I run into someone who's tittering over a dildo that comes in two whole colors! and amazon actually sells this dildo!, and my first impulse is to make fun of them :-P. But I stop myself and calmly explain that Amazon sells significantly more than one kind of dildo, and in dozens of colors (and stop myself from saying there are much better places to buy them, and I can recommend specific kinds...)

Not everyone is able to receive useful information, unfortunately. And yeah, it probably isn't the way you want to be known as the person who knows way too much about sex. Even if those people most desperately need all of that information in a hurry.

I approve of Fascinations! They were one of the companies I affiliated with. The best of the best, as far as I've seen, is Early2Bed, based in Chicago. The owner is a completely awesome person in every way. And she decided to pull a certain very large (and cheap and mostly crappy) product line because they had misogynistic descriptions in a couple products. I... I know a lot about sex toys and sex toy stores and what to get and what to avoid and I'll shut up now.

Before I forget to say it: I love the music SO SO MUCH. The Xenoblade soundtrack has become my default "being creative now" playlist, because it's so varied and beautiful. Chrono Trigger and Xenogears and Ar Tonelico also have great music, but none of them have quite as much of it!

I will have a lot more squeeing over Xenoblade once my eye no longer hurts! Today when I played I was in a grouchy "why can't you people solve your own damn problems for once!" mood toward all these people asking me to fetch things for them and do their jobs and matchmake, though I've been loving how it's handled. But DO THEY NOT KNOW I HAVE TO SAVE THE WORLD HERE?!
