There are people in the world who both have anal sex and claim they do not need lube. I think they are like people who say they do not need safe words or seatbelts. They are courting disaster; I also know people who have been injured from not using lube or preparing properly for anal sex, and therefore can never have anal sex again, as well as having all the other, worse problems that come from those injuries. Not to mention that -- how is that fun?! Just ow ow ow for both parties. (Assuming the person doing the penetrating has a cock, and the couple of people I've seen who say they don't use lube are always being penetrated by cocks.) I understand enjoying painful sex, but not painful sex that has a large possibility of causing injury.
It doesn't have to be over-the-counter lube if it's in a story, for me; olive oil or a similar substance is fine, especially in a traditional ye olde fantasy world. In Anita's world, there is no reason these people would not carry around packets of lube. Silicone lube, considering Anita's predilection for shower and bath sex. The aversion to using lube that some people have makes my head hurt. I think they think sex is somehow wrong and icky and therefore if you prepare that makes you wrong and icky. Idek.
