Because people do not know there are vampires in Bella's world. It would be exactly like an entire family having owls' beaks in our world and no one commenting on it. If you cannot see how that is a problem, I do not think you know what storytelling is.
This argument that "it's fiction" so you can barf whatever you want on the page and it's all good is not one that I am going to try to respond to politely more than once, because it is not one I believe deserves even the smallest bit of respect. If you try it again anywhere on my journal, be prepared for that.
