Her rape fetish is just so weird to me. It's not anything like the rape fantasies I've seen before. Rape fantasies have a heavy emphasis on the FANTASY part. A lot of people call them "ravishment" fantasies for that reason. While they're non-con, and non-con irl is always rape, they're... I dunno. I've never seen anyone explain it completely, and I can't do it either. But LKH's imagined rapes are really and truly imagined rapes (well, with magic), and her characters insist that they are Good and Just. While rape fantasy removes most of the real-life horrible parts of rape, LKH REVELS in those parts. Which makes her writing possibly the only literal rape fantasy I've ever seen. I get the horrible feeling that she would really do this stuff if she could.
Re: the Gary Stu stuff, I think I agree pretty much. What I keep running up against is that LKH says JC tells her what to wear. It's like the part of her brain responsible for him took over, and the part of it responsible for Anita was mostly squashed.
