In my own fiction, I’ve decided that only therian women can have therian children, and it’s because of this trope. Originally I was gonna play it like AB does until subtle_shades outlined why it was so bs in another series and I was like HOLY SHIT THAT’S TRUE and also it makes MORE sense this way within the rules of my own fiction anyway (Therian men can still father kids, but if they’re with a human, they’ll be human)

I think I’d be uncomfy if a guy got a hard-on because he was nude in front of me (and depending on the context I’d probably be uncomfy with the nudity in itself) but I don’t think I’d be pissed, especially since, as I understand it, aren’t erections just a thing that can happen for almost not reason? And certainly not something a dude can control any more than sneezing. TBH my hypothetical discomfort would be more my own prudishness than anything else, assuming the situation was benign (like an art class model versus a flasher) I just don’t understand this reaction except maybe, I dunno, I guess she’s upset at the situation in general and she’s mad that somebody else is apparently turned-on by it…then again that might be too human and logical for her.

Wolf packs are, I thought, run by the alpha pair equally, and I’ve recently heard that wolf packs are in fact female-dominated (no source though so I don’t know for sure)…so yeah, LKH’s male-centric werewolves don’t make much sense. But then, since when do any of her were-beasties?

Might makes right ends up being the entire theme of Kiss the Dead, alongside “Anita is happy with her life and lovers so that means she should never be critical of it in any way ever and she has learned this, yay!”
