Yep. A book of that nature would probably have to actually have a relationship in addition to the sex scenes, so it would be difficult to write for people who are interested in the porny aspects, and difficult for people who want to white a novel and then include proper elements.

Of course, they would then have to write a story that wasn't so messed up in the relationship dynamics, too.
